Karlynn Ness, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Karlynn helps patients in Illinois find clarity, stability, and meaningful progress through compassionate and clinically grounded psychiatric care. She supports children, adolescents, teens, and adults with medication management, offering a thoughtful and individualized approach that honors each person’s strengths, challenges, and lived experience. Her goal is to create a space where patients feel understood, supported, and empowered to move toward lasting wellness.

Karlynn is especially passionate about treating ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She works closely with children and adolescents who are navigating emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges, and partners with families to promote healthier communication, improved functioning, and long-term success. Her approach blends evidence-based care with warmth and practical guidance, helping young people and adults build skills that support everyday stability and resilience. In addition to these focus areas, she offers care for grief, bipolar disorder, PTSD/trauma, OCD, school avoidance, postpartum anxiety and depression, psychosis, women’s mental health concerns, and various childhood behavior issues.

She also supports individuals in the adoption and foster care community, patients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders, first responders, military/veterans, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Karlynn uses medication management supported by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness strategies to help patients make sustainable progress, and she provides additional services beyond those noted here.

Karlynn practices at FJ Psychological Services and brings a holistic mindset that respects the whole person—mind, body, and environment. She values genuine connection, collaboration, and transparency in treatment planning, ensuring that patients of all ages feel involved and informed at every step. Outside of her clinical work, Karlynn loves spending time with her family, exploring new places, visiting attractions, and discovering great food spots.
