Elle Lager, Admin Assistant
Hello, my name is Elle! I hold an Associate’s Degree in Science from McHenry County College, where I served as captain of the women’s tennis team and led my team to the national level, concluding my athletic career. I later transferred to the University of Illinois Chicago, where I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology and expect to graduate in Spring 2026.
Following the completion of my undergraduate studies, I plan to pursue a Master of Social Work (MSW) and licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am drawn to social work for its versatility and the opportunity to serve diverse populations across clinical, policy, and research settings. My professional interests include therapy, policy, research, and recidivism, with particular focus areas in grief, addiction, relationships, mental health, and criminal justice.
Throughout my academic career, I have engaged in research with Roots y Resistencia at UIC, examining sociocultural factors related to racism. I will also complete an internship with El Valor through UIC, working with children ages 3–5, many of whom have disabilities. Additionally, I have earned a certificate in Adult Mental Health First Aid through UIC and volunteered at the Teen Break Center in Crystal Lake, where I provided support and encouragement to adolescents navigating personal and social challenges.
I am eager to continue developing my skills in a clinical and professional setting and hope to take on more hands-on responsibilities as I progress in my training. I value empathy, cultural humility, and creating welcoming environments for individuals and families seeking care. Outside of my academic and professional work, I enjoy staying active, playing tennis, spending time with my cat, socializing with friends, working on arts and crafts, and engaging in creative and community-centered activities.
