Jaclyn Monteleone, MA, LSW
Jaclyn embarked on her journey to become a social worker at Stony Brook University, where she pursued her passion for helping others. Graduating with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Jaclyn developed a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that laid the groundwork for her future career.
Jaclyn has experience working in substance use, trauma, and mental health. She understands that each individual has their own unique experiences and struggles and it is essential to acknowledge their expertise in their own lives. Jaclyn strives to establish a foundation of trust and connection by meeting clients where they are at in all aspects of their lives.
Jaclyn utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps individuals identify and modify negative thought patterns, as well as Motivational Interviewing techniques that empower them to embrace change. Jaclyn also adopts a strengths-based perspective when working with her clients. By focusing on their inherent strengths and capabilities rather than solely on their challenges, she empowers individuals to overcome challenges and obstacles.
Jaclyn believes in the importance of providing a therapeutic environment that respects and values the client’s perspective. She creates a safe space where individuals can freely express themselves without fear of judgment or dismissal. By recognizing that every person’s path to recovery is different, Jaclyn tailors her interventions to suit each client’s specific circumstances.
